The Rehabilitation and Recovery program is a recovery-focused, community-based rehabilitation service for people with mental health issues. Recovery from addiction is the process of sustaining abstinence and learning and practicing the awareness and skills necessary to live a whole, healthy, and healed life. Developing new patterns of living with conscious awareness, and moving toward mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual balance. After every rehabilitation therapy, the next step is recovery. In fact, for many individuals, recovery is a lifelong process and for some others, it’s a part of rehabilitation therapy, requiring their ongoing work and attention. At times, the path to lifelong recovery may feel easy. Other times, it will be difficult for individuals to go through the same process again and again. Like anything in life, it’s a journey that may feature varying terrain, so lifelong support is essential.

Prior to leaving an addiction treatment program, the patient will meet with counselors to discuss a plan for aftercare. When you reach out for help from a professional alcohol and drug rehab program, your recovery process will begin with a professional treatment program. Many addiction rehab facilities offer follow-up programs to assist patients as they return to normal life. These follow-up programs include stay at rehab centers on weekends and stay at sober houses for a time period for recovery. While in a sober living facility, recovering individuals perform chores, work at an outside job, and participate in group therapy sessions. This offers a supportive transitional time for those recovering from addiction before being thrown back into “normal” life.

Some people choose to stay in support groups for recovery. In aftercare support groups, it’s often said that participants get what they give, so they are encouraged to interact with other group members and share their experiences with the group. After some time, they also help new comers to overcome their problems.


In recovery process, there are 5 stages which are awareness and early acknowledgement, consideration, exploring recovery, early recovery and active recovery and maintenance. Recovery is not just overcome from the addiction of drugs and alcohol; it is a process of complete transformation of mind, spirit and body. An individual has to go through all these 5 stages of recovery process to throw back into his normal life. Some people take long time to complete this process, its not easy for them.
